Caregiving touches everyone at some point in life yet most people don’t recognize it as a critical issue. They are not aware that today nearly 65 million people (29% of the population) are serving in that role and are burning out fast.
Or that many more caregivers will be needed as our aging population doubles to 71 million by 2030. And that 25 million people are projected to develop dementia by 2050 unless a cure is found.
Caregiving responsibility tends to fall upon one or two family members who in many instances are also working.
This scenario can lead to poor health for the caregiver and isolation of those in need of care. People who live alone (far from family or without family) are also need support when a health crisis hits.
Who is going to take care of everybody in the future with the escalating cost of health care and home care?
IT’S GOING TO TAKE ALL OF US WORKING TOGETHER.And WE CAN make a difference.
